ABOUT US

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Oshkosh is an accredited non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, advocacy, and support to those affected by mental illness. NAMI Oshkosh partners with local crisis, law enforcement, social services agencies, and a variety of community groups.

Who Joins NAMI?

Anyone can join NAMI. Your membership gets you up-to-date information and publications about mental wellness. All of NAMI Oshkosh's programs are free and you DO NOT need to be a member to participate.

A NAMI membership means you are part of an organization that helps other people and families when they are in a time of need.

What can family and friends do?

  • Join NAMI. 

  • Educate yourself by visiting https://nami.org/help

  • Attend one of our monthly support groups for those who have friends and loved ones living with mental illness.

  • Familiarize yourself with community resources that are available for individuals with mental illness.

  • Advocate for quality mental health services and against the stigma that surrounds those with mental illness.

  • Seek help from your doctor, community mental health clinic, or hospital. 

  • Contact NAMI Oshkosh for more information.
